Martin I. Berger

Mr. Berger has been a trial lawyer in Miami for over twenty-five years, having tried personal injury, medical malpractice, P.I.P., and wrongful death cases in Courts throughout Florida.  With Berger Hicks, he heads the personal injury litigation department, protecting the rights of those injured from the adverse interests of the insurance industry.  He knows that the only way to fight off insurance company abuse is to be aggressive in litigation and to ensure that his clients get their day in court.  Through his efforts, he has obtained combined verdicts in the millions of dollars for his clients.

Among his accomplishments, Mr. Berger has recently been given the highest peer attorney rating of AV Preeminent, by Martindale Hubbell.  He has also been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community, when in 2002, Mr. Berger was named the Guardian Ad Litem of the year by the Put Something Back Program of the Dade County Bar Association, for his representation of children involved in custody and paternity actions.

Mr. Berger earned his BA degree from the University of Chicago in 1989, where he majored in Economics, and received his Juris Doctorate from the National Law Center at George Washington University in 1992.  Mr. Berger is or has been a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Employment Rights Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Florida Justice Association, Dade County Bar Association, and the Florida Bar.

Personally. Mr. Berger grew up in the Pinecrest area and is a graduate of Miami Palmetto Senior High School. He resides in North Miami Beach, Florida, with his wife, Karen, and four children.
